Context
In 2020, XP was awarded the first full-scale Production Enhancement Contract (PEC) in Ukraine with Naftogaz, to revitalize mature gas fields in the Lviv region.

13 gas fields

152 active wells
Challenges
The fields were facing multiple issues:
- Aging surface facilities
- High methane fugitive emissions
- Double-digit production decline
- High OPEX
- High energy consumption
- Increasing Gas compression requirements
XP’s approach
XP invested over 30 million USD and deployed an integrated strategy including people, processes, data and technology.
Production Increase Strategy
- 3D seismic acquisition, PLTs and modern well logging
- Drilling of new appraisal and development wells
- Implementation of advanced well stimulation technologies
- Dual completions for commingled production
- Gas wells deliquification automation and remote monitoring
- Installation of booster compressors
Operations Modernization and Optimization
- Surface facilities upgrades
- Digitalization of processes
- Real-time monitoring systems
- Automation improvements
- Production facilities resizing
- Processes reorganization
Emissions Reduction Program
- Identify and quantify emissions
- First company to implement level 4 OGMP in Ukraine
- Implement emissions abatement solutions
- Optimize energy consumption
Results Achieved
Despite wartime conditions, XP exceeded contractual investment obligations and delivered measurable results:
Production & Operational Performance
Production uplift vs baseline
OPEX reduction
Environmental Impact
